Ideas for Maximizing Your Planner in 2019

Ideas for Maximizing Your Planner in 2019

When you got your planner for 2019, you probably had ALL the best intentions for using it to the fullest! Except... now it's late January, and you're not quite sure HOW to use it to the fullest.

Or maybe, because of amazing holiday deals, gifts from loved ones, and your complete obsession with beautiful paper products, you ended up with more than one planner for the year... and now you're not quite sure what to do with them both.

This week on Workspacery TV, I'm sharing some of my favorite ways you can maximize your planner (or plannerS) for 2019! Watch this week's episode below and jot down your favorite ideas so you can start organizing your life and work in a way that works beautifully for YOU.

How I Use my 2019 Refresh Weekly Planner

Whether or not you've had a chance to pick up your Refresh Weekly Planner for 2019, this week's episode covers all kinds of ways you can use the planner you DID choose for the year — but for the sake of sharing purposes, I'll be referencing the 2019 RWP throughout this video, including the monthly and weekly layouts.

I LOVE to use the monthly view for bigger picture things that I need to see at a glance. For me, this means: trips, major events, and my husband's work schedule. I also include one or two big goals for the month, as well as a list of birthdays I don't want to forget!

The weekly view gives me a chance to go into much more detail. With the 2019 RWP, I use the dual weekly layout (divided into scheduled appointment slots + tasks for the day) to keep track of just that: meetings, etc., as well as my daily to do's for both work and home life. Since that's a lot of information to keep straight, I then color code these items with highlighters to keep work tasks visually separate for personal tasks; and I also love to jot down our meal for that night ahead of time to eliminate that planning step in my day.

In addition, I take full advantage of the other features in the weekly layout by identifying up to three major goals for the week, and noting something I'm grateful for in the gratitude section

Other Ways to Really Maximize YOUR Planner for 2019

There are so many other ways you can use your planner, and it's all dependent on your priorities and major life events that year! But to get those gears turning, here are a few of my favorite ways to organize your planner in both the monthly and weekly layouts:

  • Content Planning
  • Fitness Tracker
  • Wedding Planning
  • Pregnancy + Baby Milestones
  • Launch Planning
  • "Best Version of You" Planner

  • Project + Time Tracker
  • Food Journal
  • Budget Tracker
  • Detailed Content Planning
  • Organization Specific

Truly, the list could go on and on! These are just a few ways you can optimize your planner for the year so it doesn't just sit on a shelf and collect dust after January.

If you have any other ideas or plans for how you'll be using your planner in 2019, I'd love to hear! Share below to help inspire others in their planning journey this year.

Have a beautiful and productive week, friends! xo
